Candidates can begin circulating nominating petitions Friday


Potential candidates for city and school terms can begin circulating nomination petitions on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018.

The Lennox School Board has three positions that will become vacant due to the expiration of the present terms of office for Renae Buehner, three year term; Alan Rops, three year term; and Scott Sandal, two year term. Petitions may be filed in the office of the business manager located at 305 West 5th Ave in Lennox by mail or in person no later than Feb. 23, 2018.

The Lennox City Council will have four openings this year: Mayor, at large, two year term, currently held by Orville Wiebers; City Council Alderman, Ward I, two year term, currently held by Billy Welch; City Council Alderman, Ward II, two year term, currently held by Greg Poppenga; and City Council Alderman, Ward III, two year term, currently held by Mike Gregg.

Petitions may be filed in the office of the finance officer located at 107 S. Main Street, Lennox by Feb. 23, 2018.

The municipality of Worthing will also be looking to fill two city commissioner positions, City Commission, (Slot A) three year term, currently held by Ryan Schlieman and City Commission, (Slot B) three year term, currently held by Sheri Lund.

Petitions may be filed in the office of the finance officer located at 208 S. Main Street, Worthing, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. no later than Feb. 23, 2018.

City and school elections have been set for April 10, 2018.
