Every December there have been reports about the Man in Red making his way across the darkened, winter sky, and yet — no one has actually seen Santa Claus!
This year, The Lennox Independent is asking for citizen help in tracking the Jolly Old Elf as he makes his way through the communities of Chancellor, Lennox and Worthing, SD.
Reports have been circulated that his timed arrival to our area on Christmas Eve is 11:30 p.m. It was noted in a document that if children try to stay awake he may prolong his entry and patiently wait for every little boy and girl to fall asleep.
[Note to children: please go to bed on time, so that he can stay on schedule.]
The “Santa Plan” as outlined by a lead elf showed that he would be in each community for approximately two hours. Santa’s expected time of departure from our area would be around 5:30 a.m. by this estimate.
Although all of the reports are uncorroborated, we here at the newspaper are fairly certain Santa Claus will be in Chancellor, Lennox and Worthing in the overnight hours of December 24, 2017.
If you or your children would like to log your Santa Sighting, you can visit www.lennoxnews.com to input your message. Maybe it will be a report that he ate all of the cookies that were left out for him, or perhaps you will see Rudolph’s red nose above the treetops, and maybe, just maybe, someone will catch Santa Claus himself leaving a gift beneath your tree.
Whatever your message —we hope you’ll share it with us so that we can write up the findings in an upcoming issue of the paper.
