Breck and Luke to reign over 2017 Homecoming festivities


Lennox High School 2017 Homecoming Coronation took place on Monday, Sept. 18. The theme this year takes us to the movies with HomeCOMING SOON!

The LHS Band performed “Warrior” by Imagine Dragons featured in Wonder Woman and the “Star Spangled Banner.”

The LHS cheerleaders stepped in to get the crowd on their feet when the LHS Band played the School Song.

Principal Chad Allison took the stage for several guitar solos and introduced the evening’s Emcees Santana Kitson and Nathan Waltjer.

The night continued with entertaining skits by students in softball, tennis, golf, volleyball and football. Even parents took part in the action when the football parents took the stage to perform, “Friends in Oriole Nation.”

The LHS Choir performed “Get Back Up Again” from the Trolls Movie.

The highlight of the night was the crowning of this year’s Homecoming Marshal and Queen.

Marshal Holdyn Breck is the son of Chad and Laura Breck. Queen Callie Luke is the daughter of Kenny and Kathy Luke.

Other candidates of the 2017 Homecoming Court include: Marshal candidates: Max Bultena, son of Jason and Kelli Bultena; Zach Bultena, son of Jason and Kelli Bultena; Kip Kuper, son of Dave Kuper and Diane Speck; Addison Stubbe, son of Jerry and Tara Stubbe; Queen Candidates: Mia Cramer, daughter of Darin and Debi Cramer, Megan Hinker, daughter of Justin and Julie Hinker; Tyra Payne, daughter of Greg and Laura Payne; Karissa West, daughter of Blair and Tricia West.

The remaining Homecoming week activities include: Thursday, Sept. 21 – JH volleyball against Tri-Valley at home at 4:30 p.m., cross country away against Sioux Center at 4:40 p.m., Varsity volleyball against West Central at home at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 22 –Parade at 1:30 p.m.; Varsity football against Sioux Valley at home at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Sept. 23 – Marching band travels to Waseca for the Waseca Marching Classic.
