Seventy-two seniors will be graduating from Lennox High School on Saturday, May 13th. Commencement is set to begin at 10 a.m. in the high school gymnasium. The top two students from the Class of 2017 will be the featured speakers.

Valedictorian Andrew Paulson is the son of Michelle and Wayne Paulson. While in high school Andrew participated in band, vocal, jazz band, national honor society, marching band, and HOSA, band being his favorite.

In ten years Andrew hopes to find himself working somewhere in the medical field. One of Andrew’s favorite memories from high school would be getting into finals for marching band.

A quote Andrew chooses to live by would be “the only mistakes in life are ones you don’t learn from.” In the fall Andrew plans on going to college at Augustana University in Sioux Falls.

While at LHS she participated in basketball, volleyball, golf, track, marching band, winter drumline, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), National Honor Society, culture club, youth group, and art club.

Jordan’s favorite high school memories include making it to the championship game in the State A basketball tournament and making it to the finals in the Festival of Bands and getting in the top five.

Her advice to underclassmen, “Be involved, be kind to everyone, and always think of the bigger picture.”

Next year Jordan plans to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa to play basketball and obtain a degree in psychology while minoring in Christian Mission. Following that, she plans to pursue a doctorate degree in psychology to become a psychologist.

Jordna’s dream career is to become a psychologist for a humanitarian agency to complete mission work around the world.
