Local youth to perform musical: The Superhero Show!

Lennox Elementary School PACE and the Dakota Players invite everyone to some fun and entertainment when Lennox’s young talent present The Superhero Show next Friday evening and Saturday morning at the Lennox Intermediate Cafetorium.

Polly Partridge and the Eyewitness News Crew bring you live coverage of all the action on Superhero Day, a special day of celebration in the town of Sunnyville. Sunnyville is home to the beloved group of heroes known by all as The Superhero Alliance! Everyone in town is thrilled to celebrate Superhero Day – all that is except for Dr. Catastrophe and his gang of henchmen, the Chemical Scavengers. Catastrophe is determined to ruin Superhero Day by turning everyone in Sunnyville into super-villains!

Meanwhile, Polly’s nephew Paul discovers that he, too, has super powers. But will Paul use his powers for good or for evil? Join Paul and the rest of the gang as they learn that being true to yourself is the ultimate key to happiness.

The performance is the culmination of a unique learning experience for 50 children from the Lennox area. This special weeklong event gives children a chance to learn what it’s like to take part in a professionally produced stage musical, from auditions and rehearsals through the final performance. Youth in the area start practice on Monday, August 1.

The community is invited to attend and take part in the final performances, The Superhero Show will take place Friday, August 5th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 6th at 10:30 a.m., at the Lennox Intermediate Cafetorium. The cost is $3 for adults, and children are free.

This residency in Lennox is made possible by LES PACE with support provided by the State of South Dakota, through the Department of Tourism and State Development, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
