Sioux Steel Company schedules events on anniversary of the Crisis in Lennox


A press release was just received today (Feb. 11, 2016) from Sioux Steel Company with events scheduled on the anniversary of the Crisis in Lennox. Among the events planned for tomorrow, Feb. 12, 2016 is a balloon release in Lennox at the Sioux Steel Livestock Division located at 415 E. Industrial Ave. at 11:30 a.m.

Other commemorative events include a private dedication of a memorial plaque at Sioux Steel Company’s Pro-Tec Division at Lennox. All Sioux Steel Company locations will observe 8 minutes of silence in remembrance of the time the Lennox Crisis occurred. A memorial service for Jon Richter is also planned at Chancellor Reformed Church in Chancellor at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

CEO Scott Rysdon released this statement, “As we continue to remember the tragedy of Feb. 12, 2015, and the senseless loss of our friends and family, we stand steadfast in our resolve.
