The Orioles used a strong defensive performance, a powerful inside game, and timely outside shooting to defeat the West Central Trojans, 66-51 during Monday night boys’ basketball action, Jan. 18.
Jacob Hinker scored his 1,000th career point on his way to a 24 points, six rebounds, and six assist game.
“It is great to get a win at home and to see Jacob Hinker reach the 1,000 point milestone,” said Oriole head coach Paul McVey. “He deserves the recognition because he works so hard and is so humble about his success. It is great for his teammates to know they could help him reach such a prestigious honor.”
Hinker wasn’t the only Oriole in double figures on the night, Tyler Leisinger was hot from the three point line, finishing the night with 15 points. He hit three 3-pointers in the game. Collin McEntee had nine points, Marshall McLaren scored five, Devon Jongeling four, Jacob Lackas three, Nicholas Kayl two, John Oldenkamp two, and Brendan Langbehn also finished with two. Oldenkamp also had seven rebounds and four assists.
