With all six of their runners finishing in the top 30, the Lennox High School boys cross country team captured second place honors at the Region 3A Meet held in Beresford on Thursday, Oct. 15, qualifying the entire team for the State Meet.
The LHS boys were down their top runner after a calf injury sidelined Mitchell Peters for the Region Meet, however, Peters is expected to return for State.
Helping the LHS boys earn second place were Brendan Langbehn who finished in eighth place with his time of 18:00.80. Tadan Wilson took 11th with a time of 18:11.98; Camden Wulf 17th (18:27.10); Quincy Ihnen 23rd (18:52.46); Cooper Benning 25th (19:04.89); and Sam Osborn 30th (19:30.55). Winning the Region meet were the Sioux Falls Christian boys who had five runners in the top seven.
On the girls side, Maisey Bainbridge continued her success qualifying for State with a fourth place finish at Regions. Bainbridge clocked a time of 19:55.70 to become Lennox’s lone girl representative.
Just missing the cut was Isabel Ihnen who finished in 22nd place with her time of 22:03.90. Sammy Dlugosh took 38th place (23:20.43), Madison Marquardt 43rd for Lennox (23:52.74), Madeline Loewe 50th (24:42.13), and Megan Cramer did not finish the race.
