Weekend’s Threshing Show dedicated to founder George Steever


It’s time for the 31st Annual Southeast South Dakota Thresherman’s Association Show! This year’s show will be dedicated to the late George Steever, founder and supporter of the annual event. Events begin on Friday evening with a tractor ride to the Poet Ethanol Plant and continue Saturday and Sunday at the Goeman Auction Grounds, one mile north of Lennox on Hwy 17.

John Deere tractors and farm equipment will be featured at this year’s show.

Anyone who would like to join the tractor ride is encouraged to do so. The ride will be an approximately nine mile trip. Meet at Goeman’s at 5:30 p.m. to join the fun.

Saturday’s events will begin at 7 a.m. with pancakes by the Lennox firemen. There will be exhibits and demonstrations going on all day. Exhibits will feature all makes of farming equipment, including antique vehicles. There will be plowing and threshing demonstrations throughout the show.

There will be a 1 p.m. parade on Saturday, followed by the Kids Pedal Pull. Bring the kids to compete in this fun event. Kids will also enjoy the free inflatable bounce house and sandbox.

There will be concessions and a flea market on the grounds.

At approximately 2 p.m., the Garden Tractor Pull will be held and at 5 p.m., the Antique Tractor Pull. The Antique Tractor Pull with have three Jackpot Pulls with a cash payout with three classes.

Sunday morning you are invited back for more pancakes by the Lennox volunteer firemen. Come out and support the local fire department.
