Great Plains RV off the Worthing exit will become New Prairie RV.
Tony Spader, general manager for Spader’s RV Center in Sioux Falls, said his company bought Great Plains RV March 12. The owners of Spader’s RV Center and New Prairie RV also own Dakotaland Homes and Dakotaland Lodging.
Spader said the company wanted to branch out of northern Sioux Falls.
“We just thought it was a great opportunity to hit the southern market, the south of Sioux Falls that we don’t pull a ton of up through town all the way to the north end of town,” Spader said. “It was opening up more of a market for us.”
Spader said they have already added new campers to the lot at New Prairie RV, including the Aspen Trails, Kodiak Ultra-Lite travel trailer and the Cougar travel trailers and fifth wheels. They will continue to consign units, which is done at Spader’s RV Center too. They will also buy used RVs and do trade-ins.
Right now about 60-70 units worth about $1.5 million are on hand at New Prairie RV. More are on order and will be coming to the lot soon.
“We will have a full-service service center. We moved one of our master techs down,” Spader said.
Full service means they will be doing everything from major rebuilds to appliance repairs, as well as slide-out repairs and hitch work...
