LHS Student Council prepares for Homecoming 2021



The Lennox High School student council is looking forward to another busy year, starting with Homecoming activities. The theme this year is Oriole Olympics!

High school students will show their spirit by dressing up during the week of September 20th through the 24th. The dress-up days center around the magnificent theme and are as follows: Greek Life Monday (Togas and Sorority/Fraternity college gear), Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Triple Threat Wednesday (Three people- Fan vs. Coach vs. Player), Class Colors Thursday (12 - blue, 11 - red, 10 - green, 9 - yellow, 8 - Orange, 7 - Black), and Oriole Spirit for Friday!

The public is invited to attend the planned activities throughout the week: Monday, September 20 – JV Football against Dell Rapids at Dell Rapids starting at 4:00 p.m., Boys Golf Varsity Tournament at Madison starting at 9:00 a.m., Girls Tennis JV Match at Lincoln High School starting at 1:30 p.m., and Coronation is at 8:00 p.m. During Coronation the King and Queen will be announced. Royalty candidates this year include: Jackson Arlt, Steven Christion, Dalton Plucker, Jacob Stubbe, Carter Van Houten, Gracen Juffer, Eve Bunkers, Ella Wrage, Ellen Boomgarden, and Alicia Ruud.

Other weekly activities include Tuesday, September 21 – Girls Tennis Varsity Triangular at Milbank starting at 10:00 a.m., and Boys Golf JV Conference at Elk Point-Jefferson High School starting at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23 – Cross Country Varsity Invitational at Sioux Center High School, and Volleyball vs. West Central at home with Freshman starting at 5:00 p.m. and JV at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity starting at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 25 – Homecoming Parade starting at 1:30 p.m., and Varsity Football game against Vermillion at home starting at 7:00 p.m.

The parade route is pictured at left. Parade entries can line up on Park Drive beginning at 12:30 p.m. The Homecoming Parade will begin Friday, Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. The route will head North on Main to 1st Ave. East on 1st Ave. to Cherry. South on Cherry to 6th Ave. East on 6th Ave. to exit. Elementary students will go West on 6th Ave. to return to school for parent pick-up.
