Lennox Student Receives Superior at State Contest

On December 7, Lennox High School freshman Xavier Larson participated at the State Oral Interp Festival that was held in Pierre, South Dakota. At the state-wide competition, Xavier received a rank of Superior, one of the top ranks a performer can receive.

Xavier competed in storytelling. Storytelling requires a performer to deliver a 5 minute maximum piece that is based around a specific theme. This year’s theme was Western tales. He performed a piece titled “It Gets Mighty Cold ‘Round Here” by an unknown author. The narrator tells the story about a cold winter night that keeps getting worse and worse as the story continues.
