Lennox School District is gearing up for another school year, with school to start on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
A District-wide Registration Day will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 1 to 8 p.m. for all students—Pre K through 12th grade. The event will be held at Lennox High School. Parents will be able to fill out the required paperwork for their students and pay fees. School pictures will also be taken on this day. Pre-registration documents can be found on the home page at http://www.lennox.k12.sd.us.
Superintendent Chad Conaway said, “Filling out forms ahead of time will save parents time on registration day.”
The Open House at each building is scheduled for August 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. Conaway said they strongly encourage attendance to meet teachers, drop off school supplies, and if applicable, practice student’s locker combination to make for a smooth first day.
Conaway will host a community meeting to discuss the Lennox Elementary project and future growth in the district.

There will soon be information relevant to growth, building projects, and district boundaries located on Conaway’s web-page at http://www.lennox.k12.sd.us/superintendentpage2.html. This is currently under construction so it may be the end of the week before most items are present.
Parents should also note, that in an effort to ease the transition for the 2018-19 Lennox Elementary kindergarten students as they learn school procedures and meet their new kindergarten friends, there will be two starting dates for Lennox Elementary kindergarten students. Worthing Elementary kindergarteners and Jr. Kindergarteners will all start on August 22nd and attend all three days.
In Lennox Elementary, Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend their first school day on Wednesday, August 22. Students attending on Wednesday will not attend on Thursday. Students with last names beginning with L-Z and any students attending the Totally Kids Program, will attend their first school day on Thursday, August 23.
All Kindergarten students will attend on Friday, August 24.
