LHS Student Council prepares for Homecoming 2016…There’s No Place Like HOMEcoming


The Lennox High School Student Council is looking forward to another busy year starting with Homecoming activities. Homecoming is early this year and the festivities are right around the corner! The theme this year is “There’s No Place Like HOMEcoming.”

High School and Jr. High students will show their spirit by dressing up during the week of September 12-16. The days are as follows: Monday- Wicked Witch of the “West”ern Day; Tuesday- Twister (Wacky) Tuesday; Wednesday- Which Witch is Which (Twin) Day; Thursday- Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh My! (Animal) Day; Friday- There’s No Place Like HOMEcoming/Spirit Day.

The public is invited to attend the planned activities throughout the week: Monday, September 12: Cross Country at West Lyon at 4:00, JV Football vs. Canton at home at 4:00, and Coronation at 8:00; Tuesday, September 13: Middle School Football at Canton at 4:30, and Middle School Volleyball at Vermillion at 4:30, and Volleyball at home at 5:00; Thursday, September 15: Volleyball at home at 5:00; Friday, September 16: Boys Golf at West Central at 9:00 a.m., Football against Madison at home at 7:00; Saturday, September 17: Marching Band travels to Waseca, MN.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 16. The parade route will begin at the east end of Park Drive on Main Street, heading north on Main Street to First Avenue. At First Avenue, the parade will head west to Elm Street and continue south to Fifth Avenue and end on the west side of the elementary school. Student Council members will be available to help with parade line up starting at 12:30 at the west end of the city park. Businesses are invited and encouraged to decorate their windows and enter floats in the parade. No one needs to call in advance with their parade entries.
