Annual threshing show to be held Aug. 5-6-7

For the past 32 years the Southeast South Dakota Thresherman’s Association has carried on the tradition of old-fashioned farming with an annual Threshing show at the Goeman Auction Grounds, located one mile north of Lennox on Hwy. 17.

This year’s show features Oliver, White and Cockshutt tractors and farm equipment. The Association is welcoming the Great Plains Oliver collectors to the show this year, and welcoming back the Good Ol’ Plow Boys. All makes and exhibits are welcome, including antique vehicles. There is no charge for admission.

The threshing show begins Friday, August 5th with a tractor ride to Lynn and Aggie Kruger’s farm to see their Oliver collection. Everyone is welcome to go for a ride, which will be approximately nine miles round trip. Tractors will leave from the Goeman Auction Grounds at 5:30 p.m.

Activities and demonstrations will take place all day on Saturday, August 6th. In the morning the Lennox Firemen will host a pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Kid’s Pedal Pull following. The Kid’s Pedal Pull is always one of the highlights of the day. Kids will also be able to enjoy the free kids inflatable bounce house and sandbox that will be on site.

There will be concessions and a flea market. Free spaces are offered for flea market vendors, call Greg Konken (605-647-1420) or Mark Neeman (605-941-1760) for more information.

Saturday afternoon at approximately 2 p.m. the Garden Tractor Pull will be held. The Antique Tractor Pull will start at 5 p.m. The Antique Tractor Pull features three jackpot pulls with cash payouts, first place will receive $100, and second place $50.

On Sunday, August 7th the Lennox Firemen will be back for the morning pancake’s feed beginning at 7 a.m. Rough camping is available on the grounds.
