Lennox School District is gearing up for another school year, with school to start on Aug. 26.
A District-wide Registration Day will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 1 to 8 p.m. for all students—Pre K through 12 grade. The event will be held at the high school. Parents will be able to fill out the required paperwork for their students and pay fees. School pictures will also be taken on this day. Order forms for the pictures are available on the school website or at registration.
“We strongly encourage you to accompany your child to our District Wide PreK-12th Grade Registration Day at Lennox High School on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 1 to 8 p.m. to find out your student’s teacher, have school pictures taken and turn in the necessary enrollment forms,” said Lennox Elementary Principal Darin Eich. “Angela, our secretary; Renee, our school nurse; Russ Nelson, transportation director; Sheryl Ledeboer, Totally Kids Before and After school care director; and food service staff will be at the high school to collect the forms, fees due and answer questions. It will also be an excellent time to turn in birth certificates and immunization records if you have not previously submitted them.”
On Monday, Aug. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. all of the schools in the district will hold an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Students and parents are encouraged to come and meet their teachers, see their classrooms, bring school supplies and get class schedules and locker assignments.
On Monday, Aug. 10 parents of high school students participating in fall sports will have a meeting at 7 p.m. at the high school. A participation form, a physical exam form and the concussion form must all be completed before students can participate in athletic activities. These forms can be found on the school’s website under the Activities tab (http://www.lennox.k12.sd.us/).
Two starting dates for Kindergarten students
In an effort to ease the transition for the 2015-16 kindergarten students as they learn school procedures and meet their new kindergarten friends, there will be two starting dates next fall for kindergarten students. Students with last names beginning with A-L will attend their first school day on Wednesday, August 26th. Students attending on Wednesday will not attend on Thursday. Students with last names beginning with M-Z and any students attending the Totally Kids Program, will attend their first school day on Thursday, Aug. 27. ALL Kindergarten students will attend on Friday, Aug. 28.
