Lennox City sewer rates to increase slightly

Lennox City Council met on Monday evening at 7 p.m. The councilmen approved the agenda, previous minutes, claims and payroll.

Finance Officer Jerry Jones gave the council a budget analysis, stating that it was a good year. He reported that the ambulance had a busy November and December. They made 334 runs during 2014.

Jones presented a Sales Tax report. He expressed disappointment in the 3rd penny sales tax. During the six months the city collected the tax, $16,430 in total revenue was collected.

Another six months and we will get a more accurate picture for budgeting,” said Jones. “We have to make sure places are charging the 3rd penny when they should.”
