News preview for June 12th issue…

Construction begins for 7th & 8th grade addition

Construction is underway at Lennox High School (pictured above) for the seventh and eighth grade addition. The School Board heard a building project update from LWC Middle School Principal Chad Allison at Monday night’s Lennox School District Board of Education meeting. 
He said that the foundation work is near completion, the backfill has started and the underground plumbing work has begun. The general contractors are Hoogendoorn Construction. It was said that storm drainage was to begin June 22. The next meeting for the building project was scheduled for June 18.
In other action Monday night, the resignation of Cody Lutes, 5th grade Lennox elementary was approved,  however Lutes isn’t leaving the classroom just enrolling in the PDC program and will still be teaching.  Contracts were approved after executive session for the following: Geraldine Heck, Custodian; Lowell DeVries, Custodian;  Tara Oltmanns, Worthing Elementary 3rd Grade Teacher; Blake Crosby, Assistant Wrestling Coach; Mike Larson One-Act Play Director; Jeff Larsen, Assistant Football Coach.

Central Mobile Home Park to close July 1

Chad and Sarah Javers, owners of Central Mobile Home Park located east of Dave’s Service, have announced that the park will be closing July 1, 2014. 
Residents of the park have been given 30 days to move, said Lila Hanisch. The Hanischs have resided at the mobile home park for the past 30 years. Fortunately, they found a place for their home in northwest Sioux Falls, but Hanisch couldn’t believe how quickly they had to make preparations.
