Indoor pool, driving range on LADC’s wish list for Lennox

by Erica Gaspar

Lennox Area Development Corporation (LADC) member Wayne Petersen may be new to the board, but brings with him a long list of ideas for improving Lennox. For the past eight years, he has managed the Long Creek Park Manufactured Home Park, owned by Gene Kuper, a Lennox native now living in Texas.
The 10-year-old park has room for 85 homes, some of which could be stick-built single family or twin home units. Up to three Governor’s Houses are also being considered for the area, Petersen said. Eventually, the southwest corner of the property may hold a day care facility and convenience store.
Currently, 21 of the park’s lots are occupied. To fill the park and boost affordable housing options for current or potential Lennox residents, the manufactured homes are being sold at cost, which is about $10,000 less expensive than similar options in Sioux Falls, Petersen estimated.
