Drug incident at LWC middle school

An incident at the middle school last week resulted in one student taken into custody and several others disciplined.  Middle School Principal Chad Allison said they received a report last week that a student had given another student or students pills. 
“We followed school policy and contacted police and the parents,” said Allison.
Lennox Police Chief Orv Jorgensen said his department investigated the incident and took one student into custody. Jorgensen said that because it was a case involving juveniles, his office probably wouldn’t be further involved. The matter is now with the State’s Attorney.

Lennox Legion plans Veterans Day Supper

In observance of Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, American Legion Post 174 of Lennox will be hosting its annual supper for all post members, accompanied by spouse or friend, according to Post Commander Scott Ford. 
The catered meal will be served at the Legion Community Hall, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those planning to attend are asked to inform Mr. Ford by calling 731-6754, or leaving word at the Legion club room, phone number 647-2225.
