Council makes decision to vote in favor of Lewis & Clark capital call

At the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 15 the councilmen heard from Lennox resident Laura Thiesse about raising chickens within the City limits. 
She proposed that the City adopt the same ordinance as Sioux Falls to allow chickens in the city. Currently the Lennox ordinance allows livestock such as cattle, sheep or fowl only with the permission of the City Council. Thiesse presented the council with a short version of the ordinance passed by Sioux Falls.
Thiesse asked for permission to raise a maximum of six chickens.

LHS boys qualify for State as a team, Mechels, Bainbridge also State bound

With all six runners in the top 25, the Lennox High School boys cross country team had no trouble claiming the Region 3A title—qualifying as a team for the State Meet to be held this Saturday, Oct. 26.
Nathan Timmerman led the way for the Orioles, claiming individual first place honors with his time of 17:11. Mitchell Peters took fourth with a strong run and time of 17:17. Austin Weischedel finished sixth, clocking a time of 17:25. Josh Friese took 11th for Lennox (17:45), Creighton Raabe was right behind with a 12th place finish (17:46) and Devon Jongeling took 24th (18:38).
