News preview for Oct. 17th issue…


Bus route adjusted for Chancellor town students

The Lennox Area Community Fund presented a grant in the amount of $900 to the Performance Plus program at Monday night’s school board meeting. The Performance Plus program is a program for the LWC Middle School that is intended to help students with organization and homework. Amy Roeder currently oversees this after school program.
Several new teachers introduced themselves to the board. 
Following the financial reports and claims, Dan Severson spoke to the Board. Severson was representing a group of concerned parents from Chancellor. 
Severson currently serves on the Chancellor town board. He spoke to the board members regarding the transportation issue that has been ongoing for several months.

Meeting regarding Highway 17 project to be held Tuesday

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will hold an open house meeting on Oct. 22 about the proposed Highway 17 project. The meeting will be held at the Lennox Middle School Cafetorium from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The project will involve grading, curb and gutter, lighting and asphalt/concrete surfacing on Highway 17 from the Junction with SD Highway 44 to the north city limits of Lennox.
There will be a presentation shortly after 5:30 p.m.
