News Preview for March 14th…

First year of Junior Kindergarten proving to be a success

Last fall, the Lennox School District implemented a Junior Kindergarten program.  As the school year is about three-quarters completed, school officials are very pleased with the program.
Junior Kindergarten is “definitely a learning process, but overall it’s been fantastic,” said Lennox Elementary Principal Darin Eich. In fact, he felt there were few changes that would need to be made next year.

Land sale approved

Old football field and former administration office sold to Lennox Properties, LLC during the Lennox School District 41-4 board of education regular monthly meeting Monday night. 

Paul Jacobson, Ron Hanssen appointed to Planning Commission

The March Lennox Council meeting opened on Monday night with approval of the agenda, minutes, claims, and payroll report.
David Schonhardt, Finance Officer, presented his report. He said that he requested a few bids for the pool lift project and was just starting to get them back. 

Local artist takes top honors in art show

Drake Wood, of Lennox, took home the Best of Show in three-dimensional art at the 33rd Annual Artists of the Plains Art Show and Sale on 
Feb. 15-57 with his art piece “Earth Quest.” 
The mission of the show, hosted by Augustana College Center for Western Studies, is to promote Northern Plains art and artists. Wood was one of 26 artists selected for this year’s event.
