News preview for Jan. 10th issue…


City questions school board’s bid procedure

Representatives from the Lennox City Council and from Lennox School District met on Monday night at the City Hall to discuss the old football field property. The property is located to the south of the City’s softball diamonds. The City would like to purchase the land to expand the park system and add more ball fields. A use agreement is in effect that will allow the City to continue using the property for eight more years, in exchange for maintenance. The school would like to sell the property to have added revenue, anticipating an increased enrollment by 2015 at the middle school, the need for more practice fields and maintenance issues.

Worthing Commission hears appeal; termination of Knutson stands

Worthing commissioners passed the following motions following executive session at their special meeting held on Dec. 26.
Commissioner Troy Larson motioned to confirm the prior termination of Officer Roger Knutson based upon prior employment issues and the inappropriate conduct occurring December 4th, 2012 and December 5th, 2012.  Carrie McDannel seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
