Lennox Pizza Ranch to host Thanksgiving Dinner

Matt Gorter, co-owner of the Lennox Pizza Ranch, doesn’t want to see anyone have to eat alone on Thanksgiving Day; he wants to make sure that everyone has a great meal for Thanksgiving, whether they can afford it or not.  To ensure that, he is opening the Lennox Pizza Ranch on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Matt and his family will be serving the traditional meal of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and corn. They would appreciate some help with the pies, salads, or a monetary donation to help with the event. If you would like to donate something, you can contact Matt at 605-553-7562.

School district accepts bid to sell school properties

The Lennox School District voted Monday night, Nov. 12 to accept the bid for the surplus property (the old football field and the administration offices on Elm St., Lennox). The bid was for $142,000 from Lennox Properties, LLC. Board president, Alan Rops said the bid was $1000 over appraised value. He expounded on the recent attention to the matter by saying, “There have been a couple of letters to the editor about this. We have never been officially contacted by the city, but I did reach out to the mayor and to the bidder.  I brought them together, the consensus from both is to move forward with the bid. Then they would work from there.”
